  Pay your road test fees online.

  • You must have a valid license or permit record on file with the DMV.
  • Passenger car or motorcycle road tests are available only in pairs (2) for a fee of $10.
  • CDL road tests are available one at a time for a fee of $40 per test.
  • You can purchase a road test or road tests only if the number of available tests you currently have is zero.
  • Refunds are not issued for unused tests.

Requirements:

To use this transaction...

  • Your browser must be set to allow cookies.
  • You must have a valid license or permit record on file with the DMV.
  • You must provide your Client Identification Number, Date of Birth, and the type of road test you are paying for (passenger, motorcycle or CDL).
  • You must provide an e-mail address that is not blocked or protected. Your e-mail program must be able to receive e-mail from addresses that include the domain: dmv.ny.gov.
  • You must use a credit card to pay the fee.
 Limitations:

You CANNOT use this transaction if...

  • Your NYS license or learner permit is expired or is invalid due to suspension, revocation, or surrender.
  • You have one or more road tests currently available.
  • You owe road test fees for more than one passenger or motorcycle road test you have taken in the past.
  • You owe a fee for a CDL road test you have taken in the past.
