You must provide an email address so that the DMV can send a confirmation message of your transaction to you.

  Make sure that the email address is not blocked or protected. An email address that is blocked or protected can prevent the delivery of the confirmation message.

  Your email program must be able to receive email from addresses that include the domain: dmv.ny.gov.

This is an example of a correct email address:
  username@domainservice.com

These are some common errors made with email addresses:

	www.username@aol.com	Do not use "www." to begin an email address.
	username@www.aol.com	Do not use "www." after this character: @.
	username@aolcom	A period ( . ) or "dot" must separate the two parts of the domain name (aol.com).
	username@aol	The domain name does not have an extension (.com). Your email address can have a different domain name extension, like .net, .org, .edu, .gov, .info, or .museum.
	username@aol,com	A comma ( , ) is incorrectly used instead of a period ( . ) or "dot".
	username@ao;.com	A semi-colon ( ; ) is used instead of the letter "L".
	user name@aol.com	An email address cannot include a blank space.
	username@aol@aol.com	An email address cannot include more than one of this character: @
	user1@aol.com, user2@aol.com	Only one email address is allowed.

	Check your email address carefully for any errors or typos before you submit your order.
	The maximum number of characters that are allowed in an email address is 45.
	Verify that you used the correct domain name and extension of your mail service.
	Make sure that the email address is not blocked or protected.  An email address that is blocked or protected can prevent the delivery of the confirmation message.
	Your e-mail program must be able to receive email from addresses that include the domain: dmv.ny.gov.
