The License Event Notification Service (LENS) can give you important information about the driver records of your employees or volunteers. After you provide the DMV with information about your drivers, LENS automatically notifies you of driver license events that occur. Commercial organizations and not-for-profit organizations must pay a fee to participate in LENS. Government agencies and volunteer fire companies do not pay a fee.

The organizations that use LENS can quickly identify their problem drivers, improve the safety of their operations, and decrease their liability. Some of the driver license event notifications your organization can receive from LENS are:

  • the expiration, the suspension, or the revocation of a driver license
  • the restoration of a driver license
  • traffic convictions
  • reportable accidents
  • the completion of a training course to reduce points and insurance premiums.
