How can I get email and/or text reminders to renew my driver license, non-driver identification card, registrations and have my vehicle inspected?
You can sign up to get email and/or text reminders before your driver license, non-driver ID card, registration or vehicle inspection expires. You can update your subscription at any time and we’ll still send you your reminders in the mail.
If your registration, driver license or non-driver ID is close to expiring, you may not get reminders until the next time it’s due.
How do I know if I am eligible to get reminders?
To get registration renewal and inspection reminders, you must be the primary registrant (first name listed on a registration, if the vehicle is registered to more than one person).
You won’t get reminders if your registration is not eligible to renew (for example, you can’t renew if the registration is suspended or revoked).
I am signed up for Paperless Reminders through MyDMV. Will I get reminders from both services?
Yes. Remember, if you are signed up for Paperless Reminders, we won’t send you paper registration, driver license, or non-driver identification renewal notices.
Will the email address I use to sign up replace any other email addresses I previously provided the DMV?
Yes. The DMV only keeps one email address for each customer. The email address you provide to sign up for electronic reminders will replace any other email address you provided us in the past.
How do I unsubscribe?
If you want to stop receiving email and/or text reminders, enter the information you subscribed with on the Subscription Page and select ‘Unsubscribe’.
