Registration Transactions

My Registrations and Paperless Reminders (Sign-up required)
You can now check the status of all your registrations and manage your registrations from one convenient location. Renew your registrations online with a new, easy renewal transaction, order replacement (duplicate) registration documents and sign up to receive inspection and registration renewals reminders by email.
Renew a Vehicle Registration
For: passenger vehicles, small commercial vehicles, light-duty trailers, motorcycles, and ATVs.

You can sign up for My Registrations and Paperless Reminders in MyDMV to manage all of your registrations. With My Registrations, you can check the status of your registrations, renew them or order replacement (duplicate) documents all from one convenient location.

You can also enter your registration information to renew your registration using the registration renewal online transaction.

You can download and print a temporary certificate of registration at the end of your transaction. You can order Empire Gold plates for most registration types when you renew. See the FAQs about the new Empire gold plates.

Renew a Snowmobile Registration
You can sign up for My Registrations and Paperless Reminders in MyDMV to manage all of your registrations. With My Registrations, you can check the status of your registrations, renew them or order replacement (duplicate) documents all from one convenient location.

You can also enter your registration information to renew your registration using the snowmobile registration renewal online transaction.

You can download and print a temporary certificate of registration at the end of your transaction.
NYS Registration for Out-of-State Snowmobile
For non-residents of NYS with snowmobiles registered in their home states to apply for a NYS snowmobile registration which is required to operate the snowmobile in NYS. A temporary certificate of registration is issued at the end of the transaction for immediate operation of the snowmobile in NYS. The transaction is not available to NYS residents.

E-ZVisit for New Registrations (Complete and print the bar-coded form required for an original registration application.)
Complete your application online and save time when you apply for a vehicle registration at a DMV office. E-ZVisit can only be used for registration of a vehicle purchased in a private sale.

Driver License Transactions

Renew a Driver License or Non-Driver ID
You cannot change your address during this transaction. You can first change your address online, and then process your renewal online. You must have vision test results submitted to the DMV Online Vision Registry or reported by a vision care professional on form MV-619 or form MV-619R (Eye Test Report). Vision test results are not required to renew a non-driver ID. Read the requirements before you begin this transaction.
Replace a NYS DMV Photo Document
Replace a driver license, learner permit or non-driver photo ID card that is lost or damaged.
Driver License Mailing Status
Check the mailing status of a driver license, a learner permit, or a photo ID card that you renewed or replaced.
Get My Driving Record Now (Sign-up required)
Immediately download, print and save your own certified driving record abstract, and also receive a copy by mail.
Teen Electronic Event Notification Service (TEENS) (Sign-up required)
TEENS allows the parent or guardian of NYS drivers under age 18 to sign up for email and/or regular mail notifications when moving violation convictions, accidents or driver license suspensions or revocations are entered on the DMV driving record of the minor.
Request for Restoration After Revocation (Sign-up required)
Request approval to apply for a NYS driver license or to restore your NYS driving privilege (out-of-state driver) after a revocation has been served. You cannot use the transaction if your driver license is suspended only.
Pay Suspension Termination Fees
Pay the required termination fees for definite driver license suspensions.
Pay Driver Responsibility Assessment
Pay the required driver responsibility assessment.
Pay Driver Civil Penalties

Title Transactions

Replace a Title Certificate
Replace a lost title certificate. You cannot change your address during this transaction. You must have your registration certificate available.
Title Certificate or Lien Status
Check the status of a title certificate that was issued by New York State, or a lien recorded on a title certificate.

Traffic Violations Bureau Traffic Ticket Transactions

TVB Traffic Ticket Pleas, Hearings and Payments
Enter pleas, schedule hearings and make payments for moving violation traffic tickets that display the words "Traffic Violations Bureau."
TVB Substitute Traffic Ticket
Print a TVB substitute traffic ticket to replace a lost ticket when a copy of the ticket is required for a TVB plea or hearing.
TVB Traffic Ticket Appeal
File an appeal of a conviction and/or penalty that resulted from a traffic ticket answerable to the DMV Traffic Violations Bureau. Cannot be used to appeal determinations in local courts.

Insurance Transactions

Provide Proof of Insurance
Respond to an insurance inquiry, a suspension order, or a revocation order.
Insurance Lapse Civil Penalty Payment
If you received an Order of Suspension (FS-70T) for a lapse in automobile liability insurance, you can pay the civil penalty online and remove the suspension.
Insurance Status Check
If you received a notice from DMV about a lapse in liability insurance, you can check the status of your insurance, driver license and vehicle registration related to the lapse.

Social Security Number (SSN) Verification
