
Natisha M. Alexander
Deputy Commissioner for Administration
Natisha M. Alexander was appointed Deputy Commissioner for Administration in September 2023 to provide leadership and oversight for the Fiscal Management, Human Resources and Statewide Training units, Change Management Office and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
A public servant at heart, Ms. Alexander has nearly two decades of service in state and local government, and proven expertise in budget management, government operations and legislative affairs.
Prior to joining DMV, Ms. Alexander served as the Deputy Director for the Office of State Legislative Affairs in the City of New York Office of the Mayor. In this position, she managed daily operations and served as a principal liaison to the New York State Legislature and state agencies in advancing the mayor’s state agenda. She was also responsible for all legislative and budget activities, including monitoring over 1,000 legislative bills and providing analyses of the state budget.
Ms. Alexander also served as an Associate Budget Examiner for the New York State Division of the Budget where she managed a portfolio of over $2 billion and led the Performance Management team. She has held various positions within the New York State Assembly, including working for the Standing Committees on Ways and Means and Racing and Wagering.
Ms. Alexander received her B.A. in Political Science from the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University at Albany and her Master of Public Administration from the School of Management at Marist College.
Ms. Alexander is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and serves on various not-for-profit boards.
