REAL ID-compliant identification is now required to fly within the U.S. If you have a passport (or other REAL-compliant document), and are not due to renew your driver license or ID card, you do not need to upgrade right away.

Deadline

Any voter registration completed through this DMV site must be done by 6/13 to be effective for this year’s primaries. Voters may still use the Board of Elections’ Online Voter Registration Portal to register by the 6/14 deadline.

Closing a
Dealership or Transporter Business

Use the Facility Out of Business Attestation (VS-20) to notify us that your DMV Division of Vehicle Safety-regulated facility is permanently out of business, and for instructions about surrendering (returning) the DMVs items that have been issued to you.

If your facility will be temporarily out of business, please contact the appropriate Vehicle Safety Field Services Regional Office for instructions.

Dealers and Transporters

If you cannot get the title certificate for a vehicle you sold and the temporary registration expires soon, you cannot get another temporary registration. According to the DMV Commissioner's Regulations, you cannot sell a vehicle if you do not have proof of ownership. You cannot issue an additional temporary registration under any circumstances.

A New York State inspection is not required for a vehicle registered in another state.

The selling price is not required on form MV-50 when a vehicle is sold wholesale.
