Point and Insurance Reduction Program
Information for Course Sponsors

The Point and Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP) is a DMV-approved course designed to teach motorists critical information about Highway Safety and Accident Prevention. The course is also known as the "Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course" or the "6-hour Defensive Driving Course" and provides motorists with a way to reduce their insurance premium and/or points on their license. PIRP course sponsors must be approved by DMV.
