Help Signing in to MyDMV
Here are some common issues that prevent people from signing
I redirected to the 'Welcome to MyDMV' page
The username you used to sign in is not associated with your MyDMV account.
To solve this issue:
- Use this link to clear out your sign in information from our system. This will stop you from being redirected to the ‘Welcome to MyDMV’ page.
- Then,
- If you created a MyDMV account before, go to the NY.gov Log in page to use the Forgot your Username tool to get a list of all of your NY.gov ID Usernames. If you have more than one email address, be sure to check all of them. Sign in with the Username you created for MyDMV. If you don't remember the password you can use the Forgot your Password tool on the same page.
- If you never created a MyDMV account before, use the sign up link.

I forgot my NY.gov username and/or password. What can I do?
You can use the Forgot your Username tool to have your username (your username might be your email address) emailed to you. You will need to enter your name and email address. If you have more than one email address, use the tool for each address to make sure you retrieve your username for MyDMV.
You can use the Forgot your Password tool to reset it. You will need to enter your username and the security questions/answers (Shared Secrets) you chose when you created your account.
Can I sign in to MyDMV using my NY.Gov business or employee account?
No. New York State keeps your personal identity separate from your 'Government Employee' or 'Business' partner identity. You will need to create a personal account with a different username than the one you use for work.
