DMV Customers Can Access Services During The Great New York State Fair
Agency Staff to Offer Customer Assistance with Many Transactions During 12-Day Event
When the Great New York State Fair returns to Syracuse, DMV will once again be a proud participant, helping its customers through the event’s entire run from Wednesday, August 26, through Labor Day, Monday, September 7.
The DMV’s mobile office will be located in the Center of Progress Building on the New York State Fairgrounds.
Fairgoers can learn about more than 200 other custom plates available including one paying tribute to the New York State Fair itself. Customers can also take an eye test, get assistance with more than 70 DMV online transactions, or receive help to schedule an office reservation or road test. Souvenir plates honoring the fair will also be available while supplies last.
“They call it the Great New York State Fair for a reason. It is one of the highlights of summer in New York so DMV is proud to participate,” said Department of Motor Vehicles Acting Commissioner Christian Jackstadt. “Between the rides, the food, the musical acts, admiring the butter and sand sculptures, and all the fair has to offer, take a moment to visit us and our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you.”
Customers can use DMV’s document guide that explains exactly what documents they will need to get a REAL ID or Enhanced ID and creates an individualized checklist of all the documents they will need to bring with them.
New Yorkers can also get their application for a REAL ID or Enhanced License digitally pre-screened to determine whether they have all the required paperwork and verification documents they need to successfully complete their transaction. This option is available at select offices across the state, including the DMV’s Syracuse and North Syracuse locations.
After pre-screening, customers will receive an email with instructions to fix any errors and next steps. Once an application is approved, DMV will alert the customer to schedule their in-person visit at a participating office location on a date and time that is convenient for them.
