DMV Rolling into the Syracuse Nationals at the New York State Fairgrounds this Weekend

State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Deputy Commissioner Tim Lennon today announced that DMV will return to the Syracuse Nationals, the largest car show in the Northeast, from July 17 to July 19.  In addition to the many DMV-related services at the event, representatives from the Department will be available to answer questions from car enthusiasts about the ever-popular historic and vintage New York license plates.

“The Department of Motor Vehicles is excited to make its return to the Syracuse Nationals, where many of our services will be available to tens of thousands of visitors,” said Deputy Commissioner Lennon.  “Syracuse Nationals represents just one more way we at DMV can directly market our services and products to tens of thousands of visitors over a three-day span.  If you own a classic car and are wondering what a license plate looks like for a particular year, visit our exhibit at Syracuse Nationals.  DMV can show you quickly.”

The DMV Exhibit will be situated in the Center of Progress Building at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Motor Vehicle Representatives will be on hand all three days, promoting specialty license plates such as the I LOVE NY Adventure Series plates.  Equipped with electronic tablets, staff will also conduct vision tests, help guests conduct web transactions, book reservations to visit a local office, and enroll in the organ donation program.  Visitors will also be able to order other custom plates, renew their registration, E-plead their tickets, provide an address change, and schedule a road test.

Many of the services being offered at Syracuse Nationals are part of DMV’s customer service initiative, which was launched by Governor Cuomo in 2012 and developed to help the agency better respond to the needs of New Yorkers.
