In-Person Services

Office Hours on Holidays
Many DMV office locations close or change hours for official state holidays or for Election Day, but not all. Holiday hours notifications are added to each county’s office page several days before each holiday. Please check the office page for your county to see if the hours for your office will change.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30AM to 5:00PM. (Reservations are recommended.)

- Turn in your license plates (required to cancel insurance)
- Pay sales tax only
Instructions
- Complete the necessary forms and gather the required documents.
- Place all documents into a single envelope.
- Include a copy of your proof of identity. Do not include the original.
- Include your email address and telephone number as requested on the application so that we can contact you with questions.
- Make copies of all documents before mailing.
- Mail the envelope to the address above.

- Renew your Commercial Driver License
- Exchange your out-of-state license
- Car or motorcycle learner permit testing
- Restore a revoked or suspended license
- Apply for a conditional / restricted license
- Commercial Driver License permit or endorsement testing
- Change Information or class on your photo document (non-renewal)
- Get a NY Non-Driver ID
- Change your name on photo document
- Upgrade to a Real ID or EDL (with or without renewal)
- Register/ get plates for your vehicle
- Renew your photo document (no upgrade/no photo)
- After Passing CDL Road Tests, Get CDL License

You must be a AAA member to visit this Office:
- Services are available for valid AAA members at this New York AAA office as part of a pilot program.
- You MUST have a reservation.
- You can ONLY complete the services listed below.
Instructions:
- Complete forms before you visit – You can get most forms at AAA branches. However, if possible, fill out forms before you arrive.
- Have proof of identity – You must come in person and provide appropriate proof of identity. See acceptable proofs of identity.
