EXPERTS AND ADVOCATES GATHER IN ALBANY FOR THE 2022 ANNUAL NEW YORK STATE HIGHWAY SAFETY SYMPOSIUM

Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC)  is proud to sponsor the Annual New York State Highway Safety Symposium from October 26 to 28.  This three-day event brings together highway safety professionals from across New York State to share, promote, and learn about the latest highway safety initiatives in New York and across the country.

“The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee is proud to sponsor this event, bringing hundreds of traffic safety professionals together, with the sole purpose of reducing traffic deaths,” said Mark J.F. Schroeder, Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles and GTSC Chair. “Our hope is that through information and idea sharing with other traffic safety organizations, at this symposium, we will help keep New Yorkers safe on the roadways.”

The symposium is New York State's premier gathering of highway safety professionals from local, state, federal and private agencies who are involved in the effort to reduce deaths and injuries related to traffic crashes. The annual event attracts more than 300 participants. These professionals attend the symposium to exchange information on current activities and new developments on the promotion of injury prevention programs. During the symposium, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in workshops and hear presentations covering the most critical issues and best practices from leading experts in traffic safety.

This event is sponsored by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, the NYS Association of Traffic Safety Boards and the STOP-DWI Association, Inc.

STOP-DWI New York Chairman, Chief Deputy Robert Richards said, “The Annual New York State Highway Safety Symposium continues to be an excellent forum where stakeholders from across New York State meet to collaborate on current traffic safety initiatives.”
