MEDIA ADVISORY: NASCAR DRIVER ROSS CHASTAIN TEAMS UP WITH GOVERNOR’S TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMITTEE TO ENCOURAGE NEW YORKERS TO BUCKLE UP
WATKINS GLEN, NY -- The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) [2] and NASCRA Xfinity Series race car driver Ross Chastain kick off the annual “Protect Your Melon” campaign to raise awareness about the importance of wearing seatbelts. The event will be held at Watkins Glen International ahead of the NASCAR XFINITY Series Zippo 200 at The Glen. Weather permitting, Chastain and other JD Motorsports drivers will participate in a Battle of the Belts [3] to demonstrate how quick and easy it is to buckle up.
Chastain’s No. 4 race car, which he will drive in the Zippo 200, also sports the “Protect Your Melon” logo and will be on display at the race track.
