How to Access the Records Request Navigator

Order Your Own Record

 

Signing into or Creating an NY.gov ID

You can sign in to your existing NY.gov ID to use the Records Request Navigator. If you don't already have an NY.gov ID, you can create one.

You will also be asked to set up two-factor authentication and shared secrets for an existing account, if you have not already done so.

Go to NY.gov to Sign In or Sign Up

 

With Your DMV Information

  • Your Client ID Number (see sample documents)
  • The Document Number from your most recent photo document (see sample documents)
  • Your date of birth
  • The state and zip code from your DMV address on file
  • The last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)

During the enrollment process, you will be asked to set up two-factor authentication and shared secrets, which will let you access your profile more easily on future visits.

Other Records or Without New York State DMV Information

If you don't have an NY.gov ID, such as if you live in another state, you can use the Records Request Navigator without logging in.
