Details of Additional Fees for Excelsior Plates

• Current Plate(s) (blue and white or gold) fee includes
  • the renewal fee
  • any other mandated taxes and fees

If you have personalized blue and white or gold plate(s), the fee also includes the annual personalized plate fee for two years, normally $50.
 

• New Plate / New Number (a different, random plate number) fee includes
  • the renewal fee
  • any other mandated fees and taxes
  • the $25 plate fee (or $12.50 for a vehicle that receives one plate)
     
• New Plate / Same Number (the same number as your current, non-personalized blue and white or gold plate(s)) fee includes
  • the renewal fee
  • and other mandated fees and taxes
  • the $25 plate fee (or $12.50 for a vehicle that receives one plate)
  • the $20 "same number" fee (this fee is not charged when you replace personalized blue and white or gold plate(s) with new plate(s))

• New Plate / New Number (replace your current blue and white or gold plate(s) with Excelsior plate(s) that have a different, random plate number) fee includes
  • the $3.75 plate exchange transaction fee
  • the $25 plate fee (or $12.50 for a vehicle that receives one plate)
     
• New Plate / Same Number (replace your current blue and white and gold plate(s) with Excelsior plate(s) that have the same number, as your current, non-personalized plate(s)) fee includes
  • the $3.75 plate exchange transaction fee
  • the $25 plate fee (or $12.50 for a vehicle that receives one plate)
  • the $20 "same number" fee
     
• New Plate / Personalized Number (replace your current personalized blue and white or gold plate(s) with Excelsior plate(s) that have your personalized combination) fee includes
  • the $25 plate fee (or $12.50 for a vehicle that receives one plate)

The same number fee is not charged when you replace personalized blue and white or gold plate(s) with new Excelsior plate(s).
